ComedKares is an initiative by ComedK to help students of engineering, dental, and medical colleges choose the right career by building their competitiveness and exposing them to various opportunities available in the industry.

ComedKares offers courses designed along with industry experts and endorsed by VTU that will enhance the learner’s 21st-century skills while also giving access to machines, tools and mentors to build products and solutions that positively impact the community.

ComedKares catalyzes the interaction between the Community ( industry and regional professional groups ), Industry experts and academic stakeholders for knowledge sharing and co-creating solutions through various programs spread across the year.

COMEDKARES CENTRES

World-class Innovation Hub

ComedKares has established eight state-of-the-art Innovation Hub across Karnataka, that empower students to become problem solvers, acquire competency in emerging technologies and develop solutions that have a positive impact on the community.

ComedKares will conduct structured programs at the Innovation Hub to equip the students with practical experience and give them hands on exposure to advanced technologies, tools and machinery.

The efforts of ComedKares is to nurture the competitiveness of the students in higher education through experiential and hands-on learning thereby enhancing the employability of youth and help them land in a career of choice.

The partnership shall help in shared resources, mentors, industry experts that can aid the institution in setting up an innovation ecosystem in their region thereby enhancing the outcomes of their own institution. Mutual platform created for students to explore, experiment and excel in their field of interest thereby enhancing the quality of learning of students which in turn helps in NBA, NAAC accreditation and NIRF, ARIIA ranking.

What is the duration of this program?

The course will have 12 sessions of 2 hours each and challenges that students need to solve. As it is integrated with the academic calendar of the institution, the course will be spread across the semester or completed during the vacation period of your college.

How is the course relevant to my semester?

The courses are designed keeping in mind various branches of engineering, medical and dental colleges and in consultation with officials of universities and principals. Hence, you can choose the courses that are categorized based on your semester.

INNOVATION AND DESIGN THINKING

12 WEEKS

This course covers the nuances of building great prototypes. This is a completely hands-on course where students are introduced to a variety of physical and digital tools that can aid them in the process of building hardware and software projects. The course is comprehensive in its use of machines benefiting students from a variety of domains. With activities involving wood art, CAD modeling, and laser cutting, the course touches upon all the essentials that an innovator needs to create, all in a span of 12 weeks.

SOCIAL CONNECT THROUGH FIELD VISIT

12 WEEKS

In this course, students analyze and design solutions for real problems of the locality. The course spans over 12 weeks, during which students work in teams, engage with community identity challenges, and prototype solutions under the guidance of industry experts. The crux of the program is to build something valuable and give back to the community simultaneously imparting communication, design thinking and prototyping skills to students with a hint of business understanding.

ComedKares for Colleges

As the new NEP 2020 structure has emphasized on experiential learning rather than rote learning, it is imperative to look into courses that focus on unleashing creative potential of youth demography. With this objective, ComedK has initiated ‘ComedKares’ with 8 co-building spaces to be set up across 8 regions in Karnataka as a pilot and offers programs in line with guidelines of AICTE, VTU and industry recommendations.

This in turn increases the innovation index of the institution – number of ideas built, business pitch submitted, processes shared with partnering colleges to build their research and innovation vertical – which will help them to enhance their NIRF, ARIIA ranking and also adhere to the NBA requirements.
