Simplified and Plug and Play ERPs for Small and Medium Enterprises

Where you report the findings of your study based upon the information gathered as a result of the methodology you applied.

THE PROBLEM

While Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) account for 24.63 percent of India’s GDP, in a post-COVID world where technology is playing a key part in the spectrum of connecting, investing, and creating unicorns, SMEs are battling into becoming digitalized with limited revenue, people, and assets.

With the entire industrial sector, is looking at the digitally transforming itself, through high end machineries, cloud architecture and digital ecosystems, since every decision taken by the SMEs impact the overall scale and stability, investing into such infrastructures is not a viable option, making them fall back in terms of competition and efficiency. In addition to this,

  • Since SMEs primarily rely upon manual work, lack of accountability and tracking of processing because complicated until a supervisor/admin is physically present at the facility.
  • Existing ERP systems from legacy companies such as SAP, Oracle, and many more, expect the industry to adapt to the systems while creating a huge gap among people that lack a touch of digital devices yet have a sense of fear of losing jobs,
  • With the high cost of existing ERPs, there does not exist a system, curated for the need of SMEs’ agile work methods. This introduces the absence of any relation between the industry and consumable data.

CHALLENGES

Considering the boundaries over resources, people and capital that the SMEs today possess, proposing a complete digital infrastructure in order to streamline their processes through high end machinery and cloud platforms, would not seem viable. In addition to this,

  • The people involved in such manual work dominant sectors, are not highly educated and also happen to be farther from the digital ecosystem. Building a product that can adapt to these users, without building a sense of complexity was a major challenge.
  • Every industry has a different process, and they can differ among departments, time of processing and the output. Creating something that is personalized for every industry, can be an inefficient process and could affect our potential to reach more SMEs.
  • Since the industries are capital bound, pricing any product that would be way more than any industry standard product, is equal to not being able to stand out, while also ensuring that we price the product according to the scale of the industry.

THE SOLUTION

With every decision being critical to SMEs’ sustainability, We at Effinity are focusing on building the ERP systems that SMEs deserve.

  • Our simple and intuitive design at the best price approach not only promotes maximum efficiency but also allows users of all backgrounds to begin using the product with little or no learning curve. In this way, we are making sure that there are no jobs lost, yet helping to empower people to get into the digital ecosystem.
  • Moreover, our plug-and-play model allows SMEs to personalize their ERPs while also providing a centralized data management system that unifies all processes performed by the industry across various warehouses, facilities, and processing units.
  • Employee Management systems that help in smooth payment of wages, and ensure social incentives to be accessed right through the platform.
  • Real-time actionable data gives the ability to track processes, losses, and time consumption to help fix potholes in the system while assisting in critical decision-making.
  • Adaptability towards agile work methods addressing issues caused by backlogs of processing, per day quantity returns, and various methodologies of work such as weight-based or time-based.

RESULTS

With the pilot model running in 2 industries in the cities of Mangalore and Bangalore, India, we have observed an overall efficiency increase in the processes of the industry mapped over 3 different verticals as follows:

  • As per the financials, the industries have experienced 40% more revenue growth for data-driven vis-a-vis the competition.
  • The industries have seen an 50% faster rate of expansion and growth into new markets, as their processes stand strong.
  • As per the processes in the industries, there has been 70% rise in faster decision making for corrective action to reduce business risks.
