About Us

COMEDK’s Innovation Initiative

Karnataka Professional Colleges Foundation, in their endeavour to offer an effective, fair and objective testing procedure to determine merit of students seeking admission to the member institutions, have formed “Consortium of Medical, Engineering and Dental Colleges of Karnataka” (COMEDK). Professional education in engineering has about 125000 students who pass out into the employability arena every year. It is the idea of COMEDK to help these engineers get upgraded in their 21st Century skills as well as the latest technologies like AI, ML, IOT so that they are more employable and ready for industry.

ComedKares Innovation Hubs are established with a vision of Empowering Engineers with the skills, knowledge, and practical experience to thrive in the ever-evolving workforce, bridging the gap between education and employability.

Our vision is to create a future-ready generation of engineers who are not only technically proficient but also innovative, adaptable, and equipped to meet the challenges of tomorrow’s industries. A very eminent advisory panel has created the entire framework for the COMEDKARES initiative.

ComedKares is an initiative by ERA Foundation which operates with a larger objective of enabling holistic improvement of the education sector through consultation and cooperation with key stakeholders including policy makers, education institutions, corporate sector and the student community.

October 2022

FROM WHITE BOARD TO FIRST COMEDKARES CENTRE

What started as an idea on a white sheet transformed into a state of the art facility with a vision to empower Engineers with Skills that matter in practical engaging way.

December 2022

FROM 1 TO 3 INNOVATION HUBS COVERING ALL BANGALORE

With a lot of investment and even more confidence, 3 more innovation hubs got created. Every college in Bangalore were then mapped to one of the 4 hubs. Soon our small team of 10 academicians became a community of of 5000 Engineers geared up with new skills and energy!

January 2023

FORMULATION OF FLAGSHIP COMEDKARES PROGRAMS

After extensive research and proof of concept, 4 flagship programs were created to aid the learning journey of a fresh Engineer starting with IDT and Social Connect through Field Visit in first year and Robotics and IoT in 2nd year

EXPANDING OUTSIDE WITH A VISION TO COVER ENTIRE KARNATAKA

With an overwhelming response from Students, ComedKares took the plunge to expand beyond Bangalore and set up 4 more Innovation Hubs across Mysore, Mangalore, Belagavi and Kalaburagi.

August 2023

EXPANDING TEAM AND LAUNCHING NEW ADVANCED COURSES

Eventually our team of 10 expanded to 40 strong academicians charged up to our common mission of upskilling engineers across Karnataka. With that came new ideas and we expanded to 2 more advanced courses across AI ML, Data Science, Applied AI and Agentic Systems.

March 2024

TECHX: KARNATAKA BIGGEST TECH EVENT

Our student community got 15,000 strong and it was the right time to launch the biggest Tech Event of Karnataka. With exciting competitions, Tech talks and workshops, this week long event brought together 20,000 students to showcase their skill and win prizes worth 15 Lakhs helping ComedKares become a well known brand among Engineers.

ADDITION OF OUR 8th MEMBER: A MASSIVE 3 FLOOR HUB IN TUMKUR

With a lot of energy and enthusiasm, we inaugurated our 8th Innovation Hub in Tumkur, the biggest hub yet with the most advanced equipments including Resin Printers and advanced softwares. With that our hub and core team expanded to 50!

January 2025

WRITING NEW CHAPTER IN LUCKNOW WITH KALAM PRAGATI

The Kalam Pragati Program was launched to empower students across Karnataka. Inspired by the vision of Dr. A. P. J. Abdul Kalam, ERA team established the 9th Hub in AKTU campus, Lucknow. The program focuses on hands-on learning, mentorship, and real-world project exposure to future-ready engineers who can transform ideas into impactful solutions for society.

ADDITION OF OUR 9th INNOVATION HUB IN HUBBALLI

The launch of the ComedKares Innovation Hub in Hubballi marks an important step in expanding access to hands-on, future-focused education in North Karnataka. The hub will serve as a collaborative space where students can explore emerging technologies including AR VR among flagship offerings. This further paved way to a strong community of 25,000 students trained under ComedKares!

LAUNCH OF SOFT SKILL PLATFORM PREPINDIA

It was high time that our skilled community focusses on soft skills along with technical. ERA Foundation in collaboration with NWORX launched PrepIndia, a dedicated soft-skills development platform that equips learners with the essential interpersonal and professional skills with the power of AI making it fun and powerful to succeed in corporate and entrepreneurial world.
